Besides that I just find it frustrating it registers a ps4 but not a ps5 controller. I guess it just sucks that it isn't is all.

Ideally a supported controller [should be used. There may be some workarounds that may help such as enabling PlayStation Configuration Support (Steam > Settings > Controllers > General Controller Settings), or using third party software, however beyond this, as the DualSense is not officially supported we're limited in how we can assist here.
